You know what? Instead of taking the time to convert the schedule into text, putting it in Word, saving it as a table, and then importing the html code (it's a pain in the ass), I am just gonna do a screen cap of ESPN's NFL schedule page, LOL

- The New York Giants fired offensive line coach Marc Colombo following a nasty verbal confrontation with head coach Joe Judge, sources told ESPN, and have replaced him with longtime NFL assistant Dave DeGuglielmo. They brought in Dave as an advisor and Columbo lost his mind which is kind of understandable to a small extent but not to freaking out. Initial rumors were of Columbo acting punching Judge.
- While the Pro Bowl looks stupid to most adults this year, there are two interesting stories so far. #1. The Patriots JC Jackson's name was added after it was initially omitted. The guy already has 6 interceptions so it was a pretty decent omission. #2. Jacksonville Jaguars fans are going above and beyond to get former Jags defensive end Yannick Ngakoue his second Pro Bowl selection. Jacksonville traded him to Minnesota who later shipped him to Baltimore but an interesting small nuance is if Ngakoue makes the Pro Bowl, then the fifth-round pick the Jags received turns into a fourth-rounder. I'll probably vote for him just because it is fun to watch the world burn sometimes. - The San Francisco 49ers claimed former Atlanta first-round draft pick Takk McKinley on waivers. He had been origanlly claimed by the Bengals but failed their physical. - Tua is on the injury report for a foot injury. I'm guessing he spends most of his career on the injury report. - The Raiders are going to be shorthanded for a bit as seven members of their defense goes on COVID reserve. - Christian McCaffery won't be playing this week either. - Joe Flacco gets the nod again this week as Sam Darnold seems to limp his way to a new team next year. I won't where he will end up. - I'm just curious if either the Seahawks or Cardinals even attempt to play defense or do they just sling the ball all night long. Today, the National Football League and Electronic Arts announced plans to transform the 2021 NFL Pro Bowl presented by Verizon by going virtual in Madden NFL 21. The opening of the Pro Bowl Fan Vote presented by Verizon also kicks-off today, along with the unveiling of early details of an all-new virtual Pro Bowl experience within Madden NFL 21. After the announcement that the Pro Bowl game will not be played in Allegiant Stadium in 2021, the NFL will incorporate several additional elements which will ultimately comprise this new virtual Pro Bowl experience.
EA SPORTS and the NFL will create a week-long series of matchups featuring celebrities, NFL Legends, current players, and streamers playing as the official Pro Bowl rosters in Madden NFL 21. These matchups will culminate in an action-packed virtual Pro Bowl game played with 2021 Pro Bowl players facing off within Madden NFL 21. These virtual games will be available for fans to watch across a variety of platforms. Additionally, for players of Madden NFL 21, EA SPORTS will be dropping new Pro Bowl content in-game so that players worldwide can play out the AFC vs. NFC matchup themselves. "Even amidst unparalleled change across the sports industry, we are excited to transition many of the signature components of the Pro Bowl-which will go virtual in Madden NFL 21- into a new innovative experience for our players and fans. "We are transforming the Pro Bowl for fans everywhere and bringing another amazing NFL experience to life in the way only Madden NFL can," said Chris Bruzzo, Electronic Arts EVP of Marketing, Commercial & Positive Play. Our community is hungry for more interactive experiences, so we are always working to create more opportunities to bring them closer to the sports they love." Starting today, fans can show their support for their favorite players by voting for them to be named to the 2021 Pro Bowl presented by Verizon roster. The NFL, ESPN and ABC will continue working together on Pro Bowl, creating engaging content from the start of the Pro Bowl vote all the way through the traditional Pro Bowl week and gameday. The week-long series of virtual events celebrating the Pro Bowl will be featured in a special program, which will air on ESPN and ABC. More detail to be announced at a later date. Join me in voting so we can ensure that Cam Newton plays Nick Mullens are Pro Bowlers this year. We now know that the injury Brees suffered in the game against the 49ers yesterday was actually pretty serious. He broke three ribs on the left, two on the right, and suffered a collapsed lung...and that's while wearing a QB flak jacket for protection. If he hadn't been wearing that, God only knows how serious Brees could have gotten injured.
I've had broken ribs. They take a while to heal. With five of them, plus a collapsed lung, it wouldn't surprise me if even counting a playoff run, Drew's season is over. I would actually be surprised to see him step foot on a football field this year again. But, assuming this is most likely a season ending injury, could it also be a career ending injury? Drew has a clause in his contract that lets him out of his contract this offseason, and has previously made comments about being on "borrowed time". There are also reports that he actually planned on retiring last year, after the Pro Bowl he supposedly informed the Saints of his decision to retire, only to change his mind. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/29872193/sources-drew-brees-told-new-orleans-saints-planned-retire-last-nfl-offseason-changed-mind So, if you are Drew Brees, what do you do now? You can come back for one more year. His contract includes the 2021 season, so if he chose to, he still has a job. However, with an injury like that, would it be worth it? The 2021 season is worth 25 million dollars. That's a lot of cash...but then again, Drew Brees has already made over 10x that amount in his career, not counting any of his endorsement deals, and he will be offered a TV job exactly 5 minutes after he announces his retirement...To put it simply, as weird it is to say that someone doesn't need another 25 million bucks, Drew Brees actually doesn't really need 25 million more dollars...If he came back to play next season, to finish out his contract, it would be pride that drives him, not the money. Should Drew Brees decide to retire, while it's not the way most players would choose, you don't always get to choose. Sometimes playing in the NFL retires you before you can retire from playing in the NFL. But, if we have seen the last of Drew Brees as an NFL Quarterback, I'd argue that he can retire without any regrets at all. His career speaks for itself, you guys all know where he stands as far as passing yards, etc, no need to list all of his accomplishments here. The only reason I can see for him to come back for the 2021 season is that it allows him the chance to be able to retire on his own terms, rather than be forced into it due to injury. If that is what drives him, clearly, he will be back. But if that's something he doesn't care about, I think we just saw the end of a HOF career. We are halfway through the NFL season, and have had 7-9 weeks of games to evaluate each team, and have some idea about which teams are good, which teams are bad, and which teams...well, we'd rather pretend weren't even in the NFL... While the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs look like they haven't missed a beat in this strange COVID affected season, their Super Bowl opponents, the San Francisco 49ers have been so decimated by injury, their team is barely recognizable from the team that won the NFC last season... Who poses the biggest threat to the Chiefs in the AFC? Who will take the NFC? If you had to predict what the playoff field is going to look like, who ya got? -NOTE: Remember, during the offseason, the NFL expanded the playoff field to 14 teams, there are 3 wildcard teams per conference now. Ravens 24 - Colts 10
Packers 34 - 49ers 17 Falcons 34 - Broncos 27 Bills 44 - Seahawks 34 Titans 24 - Bears 17 Chiefs 33 - Panthers 31 Vikings 34 - Lions 20 Giants 23 - Non-Redskins 20 Texans 27 - Jaguars 26 Raiders 31 - Chargers 26 Steelers 24 - Cowboys 19 Dolphins 34 - Cardinals 31 Saints 38 - Bucs 3 Commentary: - Brees looked great, the Bucs can't figure out the Saints. The Saints are a deadly team if they continue to pass the ball around and the defense plays as tough as it did. - The Cowboys played better than expected but seem to be going out of their way to show how much Dak means to the team. Steelers continue to pull it out but despite the record I still don't trust the Steelers. later in the year - Mahomes shows he can produce even when the running game can't. Which works during the season but can be a killer come playoff time. Not sure on the Panthers strategy of throwing McCaffrey back into the deep end of the pool after two months off for an injury but who cares about a bell cow running backs health. - Brian Flores seems to be the first guy in the Bill tree who "gets" it in the NFL. The big difference between Flores, the future ex-coach in Detroit and McDaniels is the ego. Flores puts the team first while not making it about him and the players respond to it. - Tua and Murray both looked good. If they can stay healthy they will be fun to watch for years to come. - The Bills are legit! The offense is kicking and when they are on they can put up points in a hurry. - The Legion of Boom is long gone and this defense is awful. Somehow the Seahawks turned into the Packers from the previous decade with no defense and just hoping to just outscore teams instead of trying to play any form of actual defense. - Phil Rivers did himself no favors in his campaign to make the Hall of Fame by going to Indy. He really isn't very good. - Lamar Jackson is on a roller coaster. Half the game he sucks and the other half he is MVP worthy. Not great for the nerves of fans but entertaining for everyone else. - Rumors of Matt Nagy being replaced by the Man currently in Michigan are starting to appear. Which works because they both suck and why not replaced one crappy coach with another. - Raiders are 5-3. As long as they can run the ball effectively they can compete with most teams. If they have to depend on Carr they are basically screwed. - Justin Herbert continues to perform and look good despite being on the Chargers. - Dalvin Cook ran for 206 yards on 22 carries along with an additional 46 yards on two catches. - If I'm Matt Stafford I milk concussion protocol for as long as I can. - The takeaway for the Falcons continues to be the improvement of the defense since firing Dan Quinn. - Alex Smith is back starting for the Non-Redskins after a vicious leg whip took out Kyle Allen for the season. - Dan Jones continues to do well at his audition to be a backup in the NFL for the next 10 years by proving he shouldn't be starting. - The Texans picked up the win to move to 2-6. The offense seems to be a little more alive but this is a team that is already in a really bad spot for the next two years. Tonight: Tonight we have the Jets and Patriots playing in the 2020 AFC East Toilet Bowl. Jets look to keep the Tank for Trevor alive with continued awful play while the highlight of the current Patriot's season is the talk by New England outsiders of what the Patriots could get by trading Belichick.
