- Guess who's baaaaack? (maybe) Sources are reporting that the Jacksonville Jaguars plan on signing former Heisman winning QB at the University of Florida Tim Tebow to a 1-year deal, as a Tight End. I don't wanna be that guy, but if Tebow can get good enough at TE to be signed by an NFL team in just a few workouts at age 33, had he done so coming out of college, he would have been a STAR at the position. Now, granted the Head Coach is Urban Meyer, but still...
- Seattle Seahawks WR DK Metcalf is ridiculously fast. - In a rare win for the Detroit Lions, overall opinion of their draft has been positive, and their 1st round selection of Penei Sewell has been overwhelmingly praised. - In other Detroit Lions news, they released RB Kerryon Johnson, who was very shortly afterward claimed by the Philadelphia Eagles. What this tells me is that the Lions don't want to focus so much on the "committee" in the phrase "RB by committee" anymore, and will be leaning on 2nd year RB De'Andre Swift to play a bigger role for the offense. - After looking at who KC drafted and have already signed/traded for, it would appear that the Chiefs strategy for getting back to the Super Bowl includes simply not letting Patrick Mahomes get his uniform dirty...ever. if the Chiefs offensive line is even half as good as it looks to be on paper, Mahomes is probably going to have a really, really good year. - Some pundits are predicting the Patriots to win the AFC East instead of the Buffalo Bills. To that, I say, "I'll believe it when it happens". I am not saying they can't, just that I have my doubts...The Patriots will need two playbooks, as Cam Newton and Mac Jones have completely different skillsets as QBs. Regardless of which one is the starter, they have to prepare for both play styles, in case whichever one starts gets hurt...and that's more plays to run in practice, and less reps per play. Mac Jones can't run an offense tailored to Cam Newton's playing style, and Cam Newton won't be that effective running an offense tailored to Mac Jones... - Further proving that QBs can be so humble that nobody actually believes their humility, new Jets QB Zach Wilson believes he is in an actual QB competition, that his position as the starter in W1 is not certain...Right now the Jets QBs are Wilson, James Morgan and practice squader Mike White. Uh...Sure, Zach. It's a QB competition. No, really... - Tamba Hali plans on signing a 1-day contract with KC, so he can retire as a Chief. Hali had 89. 5 career sacks. - Unlike Aaron Rodgers reaction to the Packers drafting Jordan Love, Bucs QB Tom Brady has already contacted rookie QB Kyle Trask to do throwing workouts together. Although, it should be pointed out, Brady is 44, and has 7 Super Bowl rings. He can afford to not bother looking over his shoulder. - In case you missed it (because of course you have, everyone has) the Spring Football League has started...ESPN is actually airing a few of the games, so go watch your favorite teams and players you have never heard of before! GO TEAM!
